'I remember being given a packet of marigold seeds when I was 5 and, every morning, I would go to the garden to see how big they had grown overnight.'

Jeremy says: 'I am 59 years old and in full-time employment which, unfortunately, doesn't leave a great deal of time for gardening. I have loved gardening since I was a young child. I remember being given a packet of marigold seeds when I was 5 and, every morning, I would go to the garden to see how big they had grown overnight.
'We only have a small garden at present. At the back of the house there is a large patio and in summer it is full of planters filled with dozens of colourful, fragrant flowers. We have lawns with borders at the front and side of the house. We enjoy visiting gardens in Northumberland where I do quite a bit of photography – mainly of flowers and wildlife.'
