Andy says: 'I love gardening. I don't have a big garden – it's only a yard at the back of a five-bedroom town house, so I have created an Italian-themed walled garden, with pots, a small fountain and lots of wall baskets and unusual plaques.
I particularly like large flowers such as gladioli, sunflowers, lilies, iris and dahlias.
I took up photography and spend a lot of my spare time in the garden, either looking after the flowers or taking pictures of them. So, the calendar competition is perfect for me.'

Claire says: 'I have a small garden at the back of my top-floor maisonette. It's a square, probably about 6 x 6m (20 x 20ft) that gets very boggy in winter. Up until today it was covered in brambles and long wild grass, which I have spent the day clearing, only to start again probably in a few weeks. It's a nightmare – and I want to turn it into something that is manageable, looks nice and is low maintenance, as I don't have the time to garden much...'
