August prizewinner
Congratulations to Maria Brown who joined Gardening.co.uk in August 2007 and wins the Wooden Barrel Water Butt. Maria says: 'Hello to you all. I have joined, as my eldest son, who is 10, wants to start growing vegetables and fruit in our garden. He has taken a sample of our soil and it indicates that it is 'very acid'. Please can anyone give him advice as to what he should plant or if it is worth treating the soil first to increase the pH levels? We look forward to hearing from you. Maria and Dafydd.'
