JUST WHITEFLY KILLER
Using the tiny parasitic wasp Encarsia formosa to control whitefly naturally
One safe and effective way to control whitefly is by using its natural enemy, the parasitic wasp Encarsia formosa. Just Whitefly Killer is supplied as Encarsia formosa pupae on cards. The cards are hung on the infested plants. Tiny parasitic wasps hatch from these cards and fly off to parasitise whitefly pupae. The whitefly pupae turn black after 10 - 14 days depending on the temperature. These will in turn produce more Encarsia formosa which will control further the whitefly population. These tiny insects only attack whitefly and are harmless to all other creatures.
Just Whitefly Killer is only suited to indoor or greenhouse applications and needs a minimum temperature of 17C (63F) to be active. It is supplied as a programme of three introductions at two weekly intervals as more than one application is needed for successful treatment. Top up packs are available to boost numbers for severe whitefly infestations. It is also recommended to use Yellow Sticky Traps in the winter to trap adult whitefly and Just Bug Killer, when temperatures are too low for beneficial insects to be effective.
