Increase the population of natural predators in your garden
Greenfly can be controlled by the introduction of a natural predator, the UK Ladybird species Adalia bipunctata, the larvae of which can consume up to 100 aphids per day! This species attacks and eats many different species of Aphid or greenfly.
The adults will lay eggs, which develop into larvae, which also eat aphids in greater number than the adults.
Ladybirds will feed and reproduce from the spring to the summer and, in the autumn, look for hibernating homes in which to over-winter. (Please view our Ladybird Habitats).
