Help, I made a terrible decsiion without thinking today, I wanted to clear my garden with its twenty year old growth, to start afresh, I got my husband to cut down my Pink Pendantra tree, I think its called that it has pink feathery foiliage anyway it has gone now, but i never thought, the birds used to perch in it before they went to the bird feeder, Oh what have I done, what can I put to replace it that grows quickly preferably a bush type, hope someone can help, I feel terrible

If you wish to plant a replacemnet for your Pink Pentandra tree it is called Tamarisk pentandra. I suggest you plant a pyracantha or firethorn bush. This is evergreen and prickly so the cats cannot climb in it. Also the berries will provide food for the birds in winter as well as be attractive for you to look at. It is also quite fast and can be clipped to shape if required. You can choose between a red, orange or yellow berried type. I hope the birds enjoy it.
