Hello,

Just discovered this site, this is my first (of many) posts!

Unfortunately my new home doesn't have a garden only a yard, does anyone know of any good reading material that will give good ideas on making a yard look good?

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Hi John. There is a very good book called Town Gardens by ... me, actually. It covers gardening without soil and in a confined space. I've also done Gardening on Balconies & Terraces and my hubby Steve Bradley has done a good book on Container Gardening. If your local library don't have (or can't get) any of these, then I feel redundant - but there are other similar titles around.

Hello John

When I lived in Bournemouth I also didn't have a garden, only a small yard which was also an awkward shape. The other problem was how dark it was because of its small size and tall walls. Is yours like this and do you have a pic of your yard you could post on the Gallery?

As far as books go, see the related article above your message Plan your makeover. Might give you a few ideas.
