Hi

I have not been here for a few days as I have been trying to sort out my huge amount of photos. Had some probs with software and camera etc but have now managed to make some albums of around 12 pics in each. Have used two progs as the main one does not appear to do resizing. Anyway, question 1. I have noticed the pic size are1600x1200..640x480 and 2678x1746 ??. Am I right in thinking that I need to get all the pics to around 640x480 ?  Question 2 When I come to resize do I need to do a minimum of 600 pixels to make sure that I can get them all in the album ? Will be using Erfanview.

Have used an SLR for years but digi is a bit confusing for me.

Bazza... I'm not an expert with the photograph resizing, but I think the 640 x 480 will work, that's all I do.  You need to keep them big enough so that when we click on them we can see them at full size.   May be someone will be able to help you, in the meantime, try one or two first and see if they work.  You can always delete them again if you're not happy with them.

Really look forward to seeing your photographs.  I keep saying I will add more... perhaps a job for the winter months.

Hi Bazza

I  normally resize my photo's most of the time when posible to 800 x 600 then you can go to full size view to see the photo bigger.

Hi again

I have just resized one of my photos on my desktop to 800x 600 ,and it came up with 800x533 of which I would just save it as that for the gallery, then as I said you will be able to see a larger photo.    I hope this helps a bit , As Pamela says, try putting one photo on the gallery and see how it goes, then if youre' not happy try a different size.

Best wishes

That's useful to know how big you can go Helen.  I hadn't realised you could go that big.  That will be better.  I might try that when I've caught up with everything.  (I'm back from the frozen north now.... 9C yesterday!!).

Can't wait to see Bazza's piccies!

Ladies

Hi

Thank you very much for the info. Didn't realise I had so many photos. Started to change some to 640x480 but now looks like will change some to 800x600.

Just had a mini brain storm. I have two wildlife albums at 640, was not going to post them but I think I will and see what they look like at 640. Some of the pics are dodgy as they where taken through the kitchen window, so have nothing to loose.

Once again many thanks and lots of hugs

Hi Bazza

I have just sorted two robin photo's out, to put on the gallery, and I resized one at 800x600 and it resized it to 800x533.  The next one I did I recropped some of the photo and then resized it to 800x600 and it resized at743 x 600,  It is trial in error as sometime s when I have resized to the 800x600 it has said image to big, I suppose it just depends upon how much content there is in  the picture.  Keep my fingers crossed it works for you.

Best wishes

Hi

Changed my mind about posting the wildlife pics for now. Today I posted Insects at 800. The prog I use lets you type the size. Thats why I was a bit confused. After cropping or touching them up a box lets me type in the first figure and the prog finds the other figure automatic, so as you say some are 800x600 and some are 800x555 etc. Just have to wait now for the album to go live and see what they come out as. Can it be that easy ??? Hope so.

Best wishes.

They are already there Bazza... they look really good.  You have some very interesting bugs!!  I have now managed to resize one of mine at 800 x 600 and it is much better.  I will perhaps get around to doing some more soon.

Hi

Quite pleased with the album for a first attempt. I have about another 15 to post and am surprised how easy it is to sort them out. 800 is a good size so will stick with that I think.

Hi Bazza

I am glad that the information I gave was of some use, and that it is a good size. As I say sometimes it works and sometimes it resizes them smaller, best of luck.

Helen
