Hi John,

Chaenomeles all varieties, slow growing though

Ilex Aquifolium Myrtifolia Aurea is ideal for sun or shade, i have 4 in my garden in both positions, these are thiving with the added bonus of the foliage it realy brightens up my north side of the garden

Parthenocissus `beverly brooke` or other varietys are lush green in foliage and turn burnt red in autumn.

Hope this helps

I'm in Essex and I planted Climbing Iceberg (Rose) against the fence in my back garden which is very shady. It seems to love it there and is still happily climbing and flowering.

I also planted Loniccera "Heaven Scent" (English Honeysuckle) and 2 clematis. They all enjoy the dappled shade and are thriving.
