Early spring is a season of pregnant promise; nature's energy is building around us and before we know it the sowing and planting season will be firmly under way. I always make a big effort to get organised at the start of the year, while there is still time to think. In just a few short weeks we gardeners will have so much on our plates that all but the most pressing projects will have to go on the back burner.

Use these months as an opportunity to take stock of your garden, and perhaps make design decisions that are hard to focus on at other times of the year.
